Howsomever, you have 'neglected' the fact that where handling DC might
be "serious", it is not "impossible".

Expensive? Perhaps, but not relative or relevant to a Work-of-Art or
Love. Just doodling for a few moments, I have identified ~US$1,000
worth of connectors, cables and relays that would do the job nicely.

That is without any sort of screening other than using HV DC Connector/
cable/relay in the search string, and assuming 9 pins, 2 plugs, 2
strain-relief fittings, 2 sockets, 2 meters/6 feet of ****elded 600VDC-
rated cable, one DP/DT relay. Took less than 5 minutes.

Requires care? Obviously, but that would be the point anyway.

Would I do it? Not hardly. But I am lazy and simple that way, so no
example from which to judge.

After that, get with the program and be helpful, not obfuscatory and
stupid.

Using DC is dumb.

Look, I imagine that it would be possible to make an automobile operate
with 
square wheels, but it would not be a terribly smart approach. Same thing 
with using DC. It is certainly possible, but it is far from an ideal 
approach.
