Exactly. As each and every one of us should know, error detection and 
correction is a required function for a CD player.

Yes, I can't possibly be talknig about raw data retrieval, since depending

on raw data retrieval without error detection and correction is not 
characteristic of a properly-operating CD player.

Yes, given that there are about 381 million samples, a few hundred to a
few 
thousand errors is a modest number.

I have similar experiences with producing CDs of church services. I
believe 
that have produced over 300 of them so far. In addition I have produced
over 
500 CDs related to choir and band festivals. Not glorious work, but
someone 
has to do it! ;-)
