Use whatever microphone cable you want.... Belden, Canare, and Gepco all
make good stuff.  Pin 1 goes to the ****eld on each end... pin 2 goes to
pin 2 and pin 3 goes to pin 3 but it doesn't matter which color is which
as long as the XLR on each end is wired the same.

Microphone cable is braided or served ****eld single-pair cable.  There are
some other options like star-quad, but for a short cable there is no
reason
not to just use single-pair.  In fact, if you only want a foot, most
vendors
will give you a free sample of a foot or so to test.
