 GMAFB,  these people buy cars.  5 grand is a burden but it won't
force bankruptcy.

Now maybe we need some program to help provide low cost loans
(similar to student loans) to assist with large deductibles.
Of course there are already things like health care reimbursement
accounts
which use to be use it or lose but can now be rolled over anually so
if these people were smart (sadly, not likely)
they'd take advantage of creating a tax free nest egg to cover this
expense.
