Having paid for a transformerless direct-coupled power amplifier, I don't 
want to color it with transformers. Cheater plugs are the most effective 
form of hum removal, and also the cheapest.

A cheater plug can be used in conjunction with a ground-fault circuit 
interrupter, which will restore the protection removed by the cheater
plug.
