Well I turn the knob on the speaker's control pod, it feels a little 
harder to turn (not impossible) compared to my volume speaker knob. But 
then surround knob also feels harder to turn than volume knob. I think 
because I use volume knob all the time and I rarely use surround and 
subwoofer knobs.

I am not an audio expert, but I assume amp is the one behind my 
subwoofer with all the little thin wires. If so, then yea it is probably 
really dusty back there (on the carpeted floor). I haven't looked back 
there for years (maybe since early 2000)!
