Video Connection

by George <gbarone1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 23, 2006 at 06:59 AM

I just got a Home Theater System (Yamaha YHT-670) and was given two
different opinions on hooking up my receiver to my HDTV.

1. Connect my digital cable box to the Yamaha Receiver then to the
HDTV. Advantage is to control all the inputs via the Receiver

2. Connect the video portion of the digital cable box directly to the
HDTV bypassing the Yamaha Receiver. Advantage is no signal loss
running it through the Yamaha. Disadvantage is that I need to control
the video signal via the HDTV and audio through the Yamaha receiver.

I am considering Option 1 to keep things simple.

Any suggestions or advice? The speakers I am using came with the
YHT-670 so they are not the best.

Thanks in advance
