Opinions on 3-way speakers from EV, JBL, etc. for behind screen

by TIM <TG@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 4, 2005 at 05:02 PM

We are about to convert our newly owned (run down) theater to Dolby
Digital. We are installing a new Dolby CP-650D and six new QSC DCA
1622 amps. I am leaning toward the EV Variplex II's for R,C,L behind
screen. We have a very live room with a lot of acustical treatment yet
top be done. If I understand correctly the Variplex II's will help us
keep the sound off the walls and direct it mostly at the audience. If
this is true we can concentrate on dapening the vaulted cieling and
front back walls, leaving the side walls for the next round of
donations to our new not-for-profit film center.
