5.1 digital decoder with parametric eq or room eq?

by David Wuertele <dave-gnus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 23, 2005 at 05:12 PM

I'm looking for a digital decoder (coax spdif ac3 dts etc etc) that
can do good room eq. Parametric eq would be fine, I can compute the
room eq myself if I have to.

I only need one coax spdif input: the heart of my system is an Extron
8x4 matrix switch (Y/Pr/Pb/SPDIF on each input and output). So I
don't want to pay for lots of extra inputs if I don't have to.

I need 5.1 or 7.1 analog RCA outputs to feed into my amplifier.

I think the Lexicon MC-12 with the Room EQ upgrade would fit my
requirements, but it is out of my price range and has a built-in
matrix switch that I don't even need.

Currently I'm using a Parasound preamp to do the 5.1 decoding, and
in-between the Parasound and my amp, on the L and R channels, I have a
Behringer Ultracurve Pro DEQ2496. This sorta meets my needs, but the
Parasound SPDIF input is having problems syncing to some of my digital
content.

Any suggestions?
