I wasn't trying to be a troll, which is why I said 'limited experience' -
maybe 6 amps over the years. The most alarming one was a new micro-tech
that
toasted after a few months at a house gig. I don't know about it's service
life after it was repaired because I moved on to another band.
By constrast my old QSC 1700 lasted 20 years before it finally went down,
outliving every Crown we had - combined! I was starting to think it might
even outlive me :-)
I think with amps the rule is: cheap, lightweight, and reliable - pick any
two.
