Band Pa Suggestion

by James <worthlambert@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 11, 2008 at 09:08 AM

I have a vocal group that has added a drummer and a bass player. We
are going to be playing outside to a small crowd or in small to medium
indoor venues. I have a Fender 410 Deville Amp that will put out a
lot of sound and a smaller Fender combo bass cabinet. My PA that I
have been using is just a four channel Kustom 100 watt for the vocals
only. I need something bigger with the other instruments.

Here is what I am trying to decide on.

Soundcraft 1000 watt powered mixer 499.99 with two Harbinger Speakers
299.99 each.
Pros: Easy to use and carry
Cons: The powered mixer cannot be expanded. I was told that there is
a greater likelihood of it getting damaged with it being carried
around.

Yamaha twelve channel mixer 499.99 with a crown 300 watt (per speaker)
power amp 299.99 with the Harbinger or JBL speakers 299.99 each.
Around 1400.00.

Pros: It is expandable, these will fit in a rack mount that will aid
the ****tability of it. I could easily upgrade the unit.
Cons: A little more cost. A little more bulky to carry around.

Another suggestion would be to purchase powered speakers with a mixer.

What are your thoughts.

Thanks

I have some examples of our songs at www.soundclick.com/lostinsinsingers

Thanks in advance

James
