Well, I finally got a chance to try the OM2 I bought a while back
(actually forgot I bought it and never took it to rehearsal ;-)
Most of you didn't feel it was that good of a mic. But I'll tell ya, it
really works for my voice. I have 2 EV's (N/D 257 and 357) 4 Oktava
MK012's.
Then the SM 57's and 58's, a Sennheiser e838 and a Beyer M69 that are
studio
property. The OM2 as far as my voice goes beat's them all to ****.
Actually I was amazed. I am not much of a singer and need all the help I
can get. Upon the opinions expressed here I thought I wasted my money.
But,
even the rest of the band thought I sounded good, in fact noticeably so.
They were like "whoa dude, where did that voice come from?". My words were
very audible, it really cut through the mix and it just seemed to make me
sound better than I ever remember. I actually liked my voice for the first
time ever over a PA.
Oh well, some people might sound best on a Radio Shack mic who knows
what's
gonna work. But now I'm curious to try the more pricey Audix stuff.
