BJ & Phil,
It's much more innocent than it looks. That was my 50th birthday, 4 yrs
ago. It was a day off (unusual) & our last day in Korea. As we were
touring Gyeongbokgung (the Emperor's palace) in Seoul, three schoolgirls
- with improvised sign language - asked to take my picture; two you see
clearly, the third is reflected in my gl***** (taking the photo). As
they walked away, the other Squonkers (members of Squonk Opera - the
theater company I was with) asked what that was all about. I said that
maybe they were looking for the $25,000,000 bin Laden reward. [that
mention will likely perk up the ears of the "Patriot Act" people].
AND the next day we flew home. When we crossed the International Date
Line, it became my 50th birthday again for two hours. I had 2 50th's.
It's true.
Back to the original post: We took three of our AT 4000 series
wirelesses & had no problem. And the Sure U4D's worked fine.
We had 11 wirelesses & no problems at all (except when our lead vocalist
muted her AT 4000/Crown CM311 for a coughing fit & forgot to turn it
back on until I almost had cardiac arrest (I mute all offstage mics, so
I have no clue why she muted it at all).
She wears her transmitter on her bra - between her breasts. And as she
began singing one song (and nothing was amplified) she looked at me. I
put my hands in the air & pointed at her (international sign language
for "my stuff is on - is yours?"). As she appeared to readjust her bra,
her voice was heard.
Forgive me for not telling the full story, but jet lag demands sleep. 13
hour time difference & 22 hours in air****ts & airplane needs a few days
to digest. More later...
