Which is an interesting point in itself.

I've been involved in appropriate technology projects in India where
Ubuntu 
was rejected because nobody pays for operating system software there and 
Windows sup****t is all anyone outside a few big outfits knows.

As Vista type licensing systems (and worse) becomes more widespread and
more 
oppressive people are going to want something that works on the 'domestic 
appliance' level of computer without payment (or with a nominal payment)
and 
Linux is just about the only candidate unless Apple decide to sell their
OS 
as a product in its own right for very little money.

Oh,  I looked at Ubuntu Studio and it's just vanilla Ubuntu with loads of 
free sound and video stuff added that you should be able to download
anyway 
if you could be bothered. It's not available as a CD from anywhere as it's

too big,  just as a net download.
