Promises, promises.  Nothing but empty promises.  WindowsXP runs quickly
and runs everything.  There is a lot that still does not run under Vista
and you need to step up several levels to get a computer that will run
Vista as fast as XP.  I suppose you could add a solid state HD to your
system for booting.  That should speed things up fairly well.  Tough luck
for the laptop.  My laptop seems to be going out so instead of spending
over $1k later on to get a laptop that will run Vista well I better get it
now while I can get a good OS.  Then again, there is always the used
market.
