You'd use a newsreader, as in Outlook Express. Usenet is a whole different

world...it's not email and it's not www either.

I used google for a while when my ISP didn't offer usenet access, got used

to it and prefer it for searches and historical stuff. But for day-to-day 
reading, a newsreader is WAY better than google or their inane email
option. 
(agree with you there)

But, if your ISP doesn't offer usenet access, google is your best choice.
