Get a good set of digital room EQs like the Behringer DEQ2496, set
them up with the measurement mic the same way every time on all
monitors and mains. In-ear's dont need it. Set up your board, and
everyones backline gear the same way every time. Mark their
processors, pedals, etc. for unity gain. Even bypass knobs and put in
fixed resistors for stuff that is not easy to do this to. Standardize
on one DI box. Again if you are on a budget like me, the Behringer DI
is hard to beat.

Do all that and you practically dont need a sound check. It just works
the same way every time.

40 mins is a pretty leisurely pace in my experience. I have done it in
just over half that with 3 people. Mind you that was haulin, no sound
check, just is this on? yup, go. The hard part is usually getting it
quiet enough to use the pink noise at fairly reasonable levels. It is
quite annoying to sit there and listen to it for 3-5 mins. I usually
give the monitors less time than that, but 3 mins to settle the mains
is average. Then I apply a standard 3db / oct roll off over 4khz,
which you can patch in as a preset 'add to' thingie, and away we go.
No sound check, and the whole show is calibrated to within an inch of
it's life. At the moment I have all songs on presets, and I am
planning to put some of the stuff into a show-control sequencer, which
might run our lights and FX. Heck I may even have time to add a little
pyro to the show. (not).
