very unusual for a theater produciton to demand highly visible speakers.
they also want only

I would guess the leads will be on lavs, and the floor mics are because
someone once told him to use them
just put them out and mostly keep them muted
dont look for any really useful sound from them, and not point in telling
the client this
just do what he asks , then do the best job you can using experiance as
your
guide to what needs to be active,
above all though KNOW where the limit is and do not exceed it
feedback will ruin your reputation quicker than unintelligable dialouge
I tend to "hide" mics in scenery
but your best solution will be to have enough lavs for most of te people
with speaking parts
