HI-MD: What's up?

I've just been wondering what's up with Hi-MD? You cannot find MD
Decks with Hi-MD. BookShelf systems are rare. Even newer systems do
not have Hi-MD. Like the new Marantz combo deck CM6001. This Japan-
only deck would have been a must-have for us the few MD lovers left. I
still have four MD devices.

The Question is why are there so few Hi-MD devices?
