I've got an old Kenwood cassette player head unit with CD/MD changer 
controls.  I bought it second hand, and the previous owner had attached a 
line level auxiliary input adapter to the CD/MD changer input.  So while I

can't control whatever is hooked up to it, at least I don't have to suffer

the horrible sound degradation of an FM modulator.

If I were you, I'd check to see if a line level input adapter is available

for your head unit.
