Which is why the over use of compression on radio stations.  Plus the
fact guys who are wiz's on transmitters often aren't very good at
audio and don't know how to adjust the audio processors.  I am really
impressed with the newest generation of Orban processors.  There's
been 3 top of the line models over the last 15 years or so - the 8100,
the 8200 and the 8500.  I've had the privilege of playing with all of
them and also playing with processors by other manufacturers and
cheaper ones by Orban too.  I am extremely impressed by the 8500.  If
you use less aggressive settings and the recommended AGC threshold,
you can get a sound that is only slightly quieter than the guys using
the brick wall sound but still extremely natural sounding for most
styles of music.
