I agree with this completely.  When I bought my MDS-JE440 on eBay, it was 
after many other failed attempts to buy similar MD decks, only to be
outbid 
by someone else.  Even though many people feel that MD equipment is 
"obsolete", the equipment on eBay still seems to command some fairly high 
prices, at least in my humble opinion.
