I bought a Sharp MT877 from Ebay. It works fine with the AA battery pack
(although I prefer the sound quality on my MT270) and on the charger unit
but I can't get it to charge. Ive cleaned the terminals with a cotton bud
and wiped over the battery terminals as suggested.
It is quite possible that the gum-stick battery is dead but before I buy a
new one I wonder if anyone can tell if this is the problem.?
When I try to charge the unit, the LED lights flash in sequence about 10
to
15 times then they stop flashing. I kept the unit charging overnight. When
I
unplugged it, the battery showed as being very slightly charged but the
unit
flashed battery empty as soon as I tried to play anything.
The manual says that when the unit is charging the LED display shows
'Lighting starting with yellow-green light'
Does this mean that the LED light should remain alight all the time when
the
unit is charging? Does the LED light switch itself off when it is fully
charged or does it change its display somehow?
Thanks
Evi
