Hey John,
If you check back in the archives of this group you will find an
extensive discussion about how the 907 is lacking in bass. One guy
even tested the frequency response and came up with an eq curve that
flattened out the mic.

More an issue of how close are you positioning the mic. Any
directional mic will sound bassy if you put it close enough.
How are you recording? Amplified or acoustic? WHat size room?
