With my Sony MZ-NH700 I use a Sony F99A single point stereo dynamic
microphone.
It doesn't have the gain of an eletret condenser mike but if you are
making live
recordings of a band or an orchestra then gain is not going to be your
problem
and being a dynamic mike there is no background noise whatsoever. The F99A
is
also discontinued but I saw one on eBay recently so I guess they are still
around. Come to that, the MCS MS907 is probably out there somewhere.
