There used to be a problem with MP3 to MD conversion, it was suggested 
to do it 2-step.  Step-1 MP3 to WAV, Step 2, Wav to MD

I believe MP3's can be coded "Do not copy" like MD files are. 
Converting first to Wav will,,, Defeat this
