At this moment, J&R also have the JE480, a couple of Tascams, MD and HI-MD
blanks in stock. Both J&R and B&H are reasonable, reliable and reputable.
J&R is a tad bit quicker.
I've always bought a good deal of minidisc stuff online. It's cheaper,
and
the selection is better. I'm just outside Philadelphia, PA. The format
has
never really been popular here, although Best Buy carried low end units
and
blanks at one time.
Lately I've been keeping my eye on Craigslist, many people who have owned
minidisc are dumping their gear. I've bought two decks so far.
I use CD's in the car, but I can't remember the last time I used -- or saw
anyone else using -- a CD Walkman.
In the home and at the office, I will continue to use minidisc for the
foreseeable future. The medium fits my needs nicely.
