Why not purchase the Onkyo unit and record to Minidisc directly?  Or 
purchase a phono preamp with a Toslink output and use a ****table Minidisc 
player to record?  If you record this way the track will be uploadable 
without copy restrictions.  I believe I saw a phono preamp with a Toslink 
out on the web for around $100.
