Well, I don't know how painful it will be.. I mean if it's painful, 
don't convert that track :)    I have the same job to do with vinyl 
discs here one of these days.. I'm going to record in PCM, copy to 
computer with the Hi-MD recorder, then process with one of my click and 
pop filters, then re-encode as ATRAC to a standard Mini Disc.

Lots of work. but doing most of it at the computer level will make the 
job go a lot faster.
