I haven't seen a new thread on this in a while. Three years ago, I
had ripped a bunch of my CDs (now destroyed in a fire) to ATRAC format
and later rebuilt my OS, unwittingly losing those files forever due to
Sony encryption. Itunes, Real, etc., let you access your own files by
merely authorizing your "new" computer after a rebuild, but Sony does
not. Now they let you rip your own stuff w/no copy protection, and
I'm hoping they'll issue a tool somebody to let you break your own
key. I don't know what they were thinking. If I wanted to distribute
my own files all over the world, I'd have ripped them to one of other
many formats, not ATRAC, and posted them. Any news on tools?
