I think I am not so familiar with the terms because I just use the
recorder to record in the field and download to the computer for
editing. I am not interested in using the machine as a playback device.
But I think what happens in playback is that when you flick the jog
lever it goes to the next or previous Group, right? OK, I'll try it: OK,
wrong. It goes to the next Group, then within the Group it goes to the
next track, and on thru. In recording, if you stop the machine, it goes
to the next Group upon restarting. If you pause, it goes just to the
next track number. Fine. I just don't know of any other medium that has
Groups and tracks.
The really great thing about the RH-1 is that you can set the manual
record level on the fly, while monitoring a robust signal on headphones.
Great narration recorder. Our most frequent use is to put the recorder
in the groom's pocket and attach a lav to his lapel. Wedding vows like
you never heard before, in perfect sync with any digital camcorder.
