That would be true that it would be the *easiest* way. It's
just that I have need to use this particular microphone for a special
purpose. I previously used this same microphone for videoconferencing
on a laptop that had a microphone input that was wired for a standard
microphone rather than a computer microphone. I stood it off to the
right while I was videoconferencing. The result was that I could be
on camera without having to hold the microphone in my hand (which I
think detracts from the overall appearance seen by the other party).

Your suggestion to find a little preamp of some kind is right
on target. Do you know of an inexpensive one you could get either at
places like Best Buy or Jameco that would accomplish this purpose?
