of course there are quite a few ways and means to do this but i think you
will be pleased with the following:
kick: audix D6
snare: audix D1
OH: audix ADX-51 or Rode NT-5 (if the budget is really tight Joe Meek
JM-27 or behringer B-1)
bass: audix D4
guitar: audix D3 (handles incredibly loud SPL without distortion or
overloading inputs)
choosing vocal mics is kind of like buying underwear... personal taste has
a
lot to do with it. right now i am recommending the Behringer B-1 condenser
as a low cost studio condenser. some alternates to consider Joe Meek
JM-37,
Rode NT-1, audio technica AT-3035, samson C01.
if you feel more comfortable with a dynamic vocal or you intend to play
live
in addition to recording the audix OM-5 or OM-6.
if you want the best of both worlds try the new audix VX-5 handheld
condenser. i use the VX-10 for critical live shows with excellent results.
percussion: a wide variety of condensers, any of the above mentioned
should
work fine. i find the Rode NT-5 to be the most versatile and useful small
diaphragm condenser that i own.
