Damping spring on mic arm

by "ferrymanr" <richardferryman@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 2, 2006 at 10:56 AM

I use a sprung elbow type mic support for my microphone (for ham radio
use). This is similar to the adjustable 'anglepoise' lamp support and
often
used in broadcast radio stations. I have a problem that the four springs
(around 10mm diameter by 150mm long) vibrate and even the shock resitant
mounting oif the mic lets some of this noise through. I have considered
putting some rubber inside the springs or tube over the outside. Any
suggestions please on whether rubber is best or some other material?
Richard
