if you were happy with a SM-58 you will be ecstatic with an Audix OM-6
it has a nice tight hypercardioid pattern, a smooth response that usually
requires very little eq and excellent handling characteristics.
if you budget can take a little more take a look at the OM-7. this is a
concert grade mic :)
if you have phantom power, want to try a condenser, and have lots of extra
$
to play with try out an Audix VX-10 this unit will require a bit more
care
in handling and environment but the audio quality is astounding.
i own and use all of the above. all models mentioned have superior
feedback
rejection characteristics.
