Not exactly. The turntable had been getting fussy for a long time,
wouldn't always run right. Then one of the decks on the dual cassette
deck started acting up. The final straw was when everything just
stopped working. When I turn on the power, the LEDs come on for a
second or two, then it all shuts down again.

I don't know squat about the mechanisms in these things, and even less
about the electronics. I have found in the past that getting anything
electronic repaired usually costs more than it would to buy new, and
that's IF they can fix it. If a 20 year old piece of equipment (made
by a defunct manufacturer) needs a new drivebelt or a tape head, what
are the odds a repair shop would even be able to get a replacement??
