It depends upon a) whether or not you need to control the 3rd zone
discreet
from the 1st and 2nd zones and b) whether your amp will tolerate a
less-than-4-ohm load. By using two zones, you are already cutting your
load
impedance in half. Most SS amps will easily drive 4 ohms, how much lower
impedance they will drive depends on the amp. The lower the impedance,
the
higher the current the amp puts out. Too much current can fry the output
devices... If the amp is rated to drive two sets of speakers to full
output,
you could probably run two more speakers but not at full volume. Also,
you'd be running the additional set of speakers in parallel with one of
the
other zones, so neither it nor the existing zone could be turned on and
off
at the amp unless you had a separate speaker selector box wired.
The speaker selector box is cheap to buy and even cheaper to build.
If you only ever ran two out of the three sets or less at a time, it would
work fine as the amp is designed to run two sets.
