We have been using Behringer ADA8000 units for SFX sound cue playback
in our theater. Two of them have had power failures and there doesn't
seem to be service centers anywhere that want to fix them. I was
curious to if there is anyone out there who uses a similar piece of
equipment that basically does the same thing - using lightpipe from a
computer to the D/A converter and having the D/A converter send out on
8 analog channels. The attraction to the Behringer for us was price,
but if they are going to keep failing, we are wanting to shell out a
little more cash for something more stable.
