Ant,

   Thanks for the picture. I can't tell from it whether you have tone 
controls. It looks as if the pre amp is called a "control pod". Can you 
bypass the pod, send a line level signal to each channel while using a pot

to control the volume and see if the bass is better. I'm not clear on why 
you suspect the sub-woofer as opposed to other causes.
   If this all sounds like gibberish to you then investigate how much it 
will cost to have a repair guy look at your equipment.
