Isn't it possible to achieve this effect by
1.
changing the fase of one of the channels of the stereo-mic and
connecting the two channels via a (special) transformer (or active
equivalent) to a symetric xlr-channel?
2. simply changing the pattern of each channel of the stereo-mic
mechanically?
It is just an idea.
